Open the console
Save a backup first. While playing in the game scene, type cheatstick continuously. There is no chat box or special input field to open first. Then press F1. Enter and submit a command once the console appears.

Do not treat killradius 50 as an enemies-only command. Its described effects include Kelvin and Virginia in range. Choose commands with their actual targets in mind.
If cheatstick does nothing
Confirm that you are in the game scene rather than a menu and that the spelling is exact. Non-US keyboard layouts are a reported cause: switch to a US layout and retry F1. Laptop function-key behaviour depends on the keyboard’s settings; no particular Fn combination was tested for this guide.
