Give her room to approach
Virginia initially avoids the player. Use calm, non-threatening interactions: do not attack her, run straight at her or chase her when she retreats. Give her space to choose to approach.
Holstering your weapon is a conservative approach, but the early guide did not establish it as a mandatory trigger. There is no supported fixed number of days or single guaranteed action that completes the friendship.
Look for trust signals
Her bringing gifts such as plants and remaining nearby are signs of progress. When she is comfortable enough for a close interaction, the handover prompt becomes available. If she keeps fleeing and there is no prompt, continue building trust rather than assuming a bug.
Give weapons and a locator
- Approach when the interaction is available.
- Use E on default PC controls to open the handover interface.
- Select a pistol, shotgun, GPS Locator or compatible outfit.
- Check that the transfer completed.
Giving equipment removes it from your own inventory. If you want to keep using that weapon yourself, you will need to retrieve it or obtain another.
Virginia can use a pistol and shotgun together. Community references describe her firing without consuming ammunition, so the handover does not require a separate ammunition gift. A GPS Locator lets you follow her position on the map.
The Shotgun requires the Shovel first. This guide does not promise that a particular gift immediately changes her relationship or guarantees an ending achievement.
